Hi, we’re Fekad & Alem, co-owners of Addis.

We immigrated to the US from Ethiopia in 1985. Eventually, we settled in San Diego—a place that reminded us of home in the right ways, with beautiful weather and kind people. Named after the city, Addis is a homage to the country we were born in, and all of the people who showed us love through food throughout our lives. Food is a core part of community in Ethiopia, and at Addis, we want you to feel like part of our community. We’re happy to guide you through the menu and explain our process. It’s our goal to create an inviting place where we can enjoy authentic, home-cooked Ethiopian food together.

We hope to see you soon.
Fekad & Alem

We’ve recently remodeled! Come check out our new space.

Wooden tables and chairs and a wooden slatted planter with many plants are arranged in the dining room of Addis Ethiopian Restaurant. Green limewash walls are decorated with Ethiopian baskets.
